The Chicago Athletic Association was formed in 1890, and is housed in a gorgeous Venetian-Gothic style building on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue. Having your wedding here is a chance to hold your event at a historic venue, as well as showing off classic Chicago downtown views!

Q+A with Annie and Anthony:
1) Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Our ceremony, when we exchanged personal vows with each other. We really enjoyed having Paul tell our love story to our guests so they can get to know us as a couple. We really enjoyed the food served at our reception which reflected our Chinese and Italian heritage. Our first dance was also very special, given that it took Anthony 10 private dance lessons to learn the routine 🙂
2) What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Jewelry from my late mother in law (diamond studs and sapphire & diamond tennis bracelet)
3) What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
I wanted the decorations to accentuate Chicago Athletic Association without distracting from the ornate details. Timeless, elegant, and romantic are three words that I would use to describe our inspiration. I picked flowers that were grown in my late mother in law’s garden as a tribute to her.
4) Mention a funny moment here:
Annie ate the first bite of the cake instead of feeding it to Anthony. Anthony looked distraught!
5) Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
Wedding planning is a good indicator on how couples work together, so it’s important to communicate and compromise to realize a perfect wedding / future for both of you.
6) Tell us about the honeymoon plans!
We are going to Italy on our 1 year wedding anniversary. We will be visiting Rome, Florence and the Tuscan countryside.
7) What was it like working with Sprung Photo?
In addition to being an extremely talented wedding photographer, Victoria was always on time, accommodating and very organized. We would hire her again to capture our special moments in the future!
