Amanda and Anooj’s wedding was packed with color and life. So many amazing things to capture! Here’s some thoughts on the wedding by the Couple, and then some of my favorite photos!
Q+A with Anooj and Amanda:
1) Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
First look in the bridge and sharing our letters with each other. Prior to the cocktail hour, we had a great time doing our portraits with the bridal party. The baraat, drive away car, and dance performances were also among our favorite moments.
2) What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Amanda: I loved my reception earrings which I got from India when we went shopping. They were big, bold, and sparkly.
Anooj: I loved my sword which was provided by our decorator, Preyak, as well as my wedding outfit which was provided by my late uncle and his family.
Both: Our reception outfits were completed with our matching watches. These were a very generous pre wedding gift from family which we felt grateful to receive.
3) What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
We were inspired by our love for traveling and looking back on all the good travel memories we had together. Amanda scoured secondhand stores for vintage suitcases and globes, created DIY signs, and we named each table after places we visited. We are very thankful to our amazing decor team at VP Impressions for making our dreams come to fruition.
4) Mention a funny moment here:
During our first dance, Anooj’s youngest nephew Kaelen and Amanda’s niece Lylah were intrigued by the cloud and wanted to join the dance. A few seconds later, Kaelen was being dragged off the dance floor by his older cousin Aarush.
5) Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
Bigger isn’t always better. Traditional Indian weddings have over 500-700 guests. Due to COVID-19, we reduced our guest count to 150 people including immediate family and friends. We received a lot of positive feedback from our guests that they enjoyed the smaller wedding as the day felt more intimate.
6) Tell us about the honeymoon plans!
We are planning to go to South Africa in November 2021. We are looking forward to exploring Capetown, Johannesburg, Stellensboch, Krueger National Park, and the beaches in Zanzibar. We’re taking advantage of our first international travel after COVID by exploring the cities, touring the winelands, going on a safari, and relaxing on the beach.
7) What was it like working with Sprung Photo?
Working with Sprung Photo was fantastic. Victoria and her team are all so accommodating and personable. From our engagement shoot to wedding day, we had complete trust in Victoria and knew that she would produce amazing photos for us. Sprung Photo really strives to capture every important moment of your wedding day and make sure you are left with a lifetime of amazing memories via portraits or albums.
