I am SO excited to share some of my favorite images from Drew and Michelle’s recent Wedding. They and their familes are some of the most kind, wonderful people it has ever been our pleasure to work with. I even did TWO Engagement sessions with Drew and Michelle! I can’t tell you how much of an honor it was to be able to capture their big day. So, onward to some great Q&A with the couple, and lots of photos to look at!
Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Some of our favorite moments were those that involved our siblings… at the end of our ceremony and before Drew and I processed down the aisle, my 3 younger siblings and Drew’s 3 younger siblings took me by surprise by each presenting me with a single rose. I’m such a proud big sister, and this meant the world to me. Another favorite moment was just stopping and looking at our “sibling” head table to see all our younger brothers and sisters (who were all in the bridal party) sitting together & enjoying themselves.
What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Michelle: My favorite accessory was the lace-edged veil that complemeted my wedding dress… both the veil and dress were from Crystal Bride in Geneva and made me feel like a true bride. Drew: My favorite accessory was the Movado watch Michelle gave to me on the morning of our wedding.
What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
We knew we wanted our wedding style to have a traditional and soft romance feel to it, and kept that image in mind when working with our various vendors. We were so lucky to have an awesome support team between our families, friends, and vendors, that our perfect day came together with ease.
Mention a funny moment here:
Drew’s family largely hails from Green Bay ,Wisconsin, while my family is from the suburbs of Chicago. While Drew is a die-hard Packer’s fan, I am a bit more middle of the road. Both of our fathers brought up our Bears vs Packers rivalry during their speeches…. convinced they were going to convert their new daughter-in-law/son-in-law to the other side and the whole reception ballroom was soon filled with hoots & hollers of “Go Pack Go” and “Bear Down” from the opposing sides of the room.
Any advice for future Brides and Grooms?
Don’t forget to be gracious, kind and courteous. Yes, it is your big day, but recognizing that so many people have gone out of their way to make your day perfect will help everyone to have a wonderful time.
Are you going on honeymoon? Where?
We are so excited to travel to Koh Samui, Thailand for our honeymoon, and look forward to a new adventure and experiencing the culture (and sun!) the island has to offer.
Thanks again Victoria – you & your team (and Mike’s!) were truly awesome!
