Jackie + Steph’s epic wedding celebration of awesomeness at Lacuna Lofts in Chicago, Illinois

It’s undeniable. The way Steph and Jackie look at each other. The way they talk to each other. The way they just ARE with each other. I don’t know if there are two people in this world more perfect for each other. Their Wedding day was so much fun for me and my team to photograph. We were part of their epic love story for a day, and all I wanted to do was preserve the feelings, the moments, and the pure, unbridled joy. Please enjoy looking at a few of my favorite photos, and reading the Couple’s amazing words! Also, check out Jackie’s amazing review of what it was like working with us:

Looking back, what where some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?

Our favorite moments were undoubtedly all of the unexpected ones. 🙂 A massive rainstorm in the early morning followed by a day of sunshine! Doing baby yoga with our flower girl after the cake cutting. Our wedding party stretching their acapella and stomping skills with “We Will Rock You” before the grand entrance. Fireworks on the rooftop during our sparkler pictures (which we had joked about making a part of our wedding from the very beginning). Jackie being totally blown away by Steph and not being able to walk at our first look. We also can’t forget the amazing feeling that came with our first dance and our dads’ reactions to their surprise dances!

What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Jackie: My favorite accessories were my something old, borrowed, new, and blue. My something borrowed was the veil that my mom wore at her wedding that she had handmade with her mother. My something new was the comb we attached to the veil and my earrings and necklace that my mom and sisters picked out for me. My something old was the handkerchief my grandpa brought back for my grandma from World War II. My something blue was a piece of fabric that my godmother and mom cut from the silk robe that my grandma wore when she was pregnant in the hospital. They made a bow out of the fabric and sewed it on to my garter. My mom put all of these things together for me in a beautiful suitcase and gave them to me the morning of the wedding. What an amazing surprise!! My grandmother recently passed away so it was wonderful to have so many reminders of her at the wedding.

Steph: My favorite accessory was the necklace my mom bought for me and I loved the sleeves on my dress.

Mutual: We both loved getting married in flops!

What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?

We’re obsessed with traveling and music. These are two very important things about how our relationship grew. As a result we designed the entire wedding decor around both! We also crafted at every moment we could!

Mention a funny moment here:

A great funny moment from the day was when our bridesmaids (specifically Jackie’s sister Alex) decided to take a pizza break during pictures at Buckingham Fountain. Also when Steph’s Maid of Honor Chris started live tweeting the getting ready process between our two rooms (of which Jackie’s sister Megan jumped on very quickly!) 🙂

Any wedding advice for engaged couples?

A piece of advice we would like to pass on was one given to us when we were trying to decide whether to have a “First Look” or to wait until the start of the ceremony to see each other. Someone told us that you will only ever have this day once, and you should spend as much time with each other on that day as possible! Our First Look was such an amazing experience and when looking back at that moment that we wouldn’t trade for anything! It also allowed us to have so much more time together on our wedding day. So we will in turn pass along this advice to other couples. 🙂

Are you going on honeymoon? Where?

On our honeymoon we spent a week and a half relaxing in Cabo, Mexico and then a week and a half adventuring through Peru in Lima, Cusco, and Machu Picchu.
