Jenny and Dan at Makray Golf in Barrington, Illinois

Take a seat, grab some popcorn, and get ready to view lots of new images!

I got along with Jenny and Dan instantly. When they came to meet with me to discuss their Wedding, we laughed and joked and had such a great time chatting. I was so excited to shoot their Wedding! The day finally came, and it was just as joyful and wonderful as I had imagined. Now, I’m no wordsmith, I’m a visual storyteller. 🙂 So please take a look at some photos, and read the AMAZING words from the Bride herself! By the way, Jenny has a FANTASTIC style blog, check it out here! http://jrebeccastyle.blogspot.com/

Looking back, what were your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
The first look was my perfect wedding moment. Despite all the decor, styling, and guests, a wedding is about two people in love and committing to spend their lives together and be each other’s favorite person. I feel like that was encompassed in the moment that Dan ran up the stairs to greet me.

What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
There were two accessories that really made my look: the pearls, which were borrowed from my MOH, for the reception, and my veil for the ceremony. I knew I wanted a birdcage veil; however, during my initial hunt for dresses, ivory or white felt too harsh. I found a gold metallic one that was shown against brunette hair and created an interesting update to a timeless accessory. (link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TessaKim?ref=l2-shop-info-name)

What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
Our main goal for our decor was to have it encompass both of our tastes. Dan is the vintage, whiskey & beer drinking, more scuff on my boots the better, semi-steampunk guy whereas I’m the bright gold, sequins, lace, red wine drinking, and make-up every day girl. Therefore, our natural middle was vintage glam. My original idea was burlap and lace, but our style grew to include brass candlesticks, hardcover books, and mason jars thanks to Pinterest and antique shopping.

Mention a funny moment here:
Despite the fact that I was mobile only because of a knee scooter due to an ankle injury on my bachelorette party less than two months prior…there were numerous funny moments, but one moment in particular that has stuck with me and given me butterflies is that our bridal party started clapping along to our cake cutting song, “Sweet Wanomi” by Bill Withers, and within seconds it seemed that all of the guests had joined in! It really enhanced my feeling of closeness to everyone and it felt like everyone was incredibly invested in our love.

Did you go on honeymoon? Where?
On the day after our wedding, all we had planned for our honeymoon was a flight to and from San Francisco. We received many recommendations, but wanted our week to be what we wanted when we wanted it. We ate mostly seafood and sourdough bread and drank the best wines of Napa Valley all while sleeping in and not making plans.
