Rich + Sharde’s Winter Wedding at Donovan Reading Room Cudahy Library at the Loyola University Chicago

We LOVED working with Sharde and Rich! They wanted a mix of creative, classic, candid, and high fashion/editorial photos. I was super excited to do this for them! When we met up for their Engagement session last year, I was also struck by how well they moved together.

There were moments on the wedding day where I had to stop myself from taking photos of them so that we could get them back to their celebrations! 🙂 They had an absolutely perfect day filled with true displays of love.

Here are some favorite photos from Rich & Sharde’s big day at St. Hyacinth Basilica and the Donovan Reading Room at the Loyola University Lakeshore campus in Chicago, Illinois.

Also, check out Sharde’s amazing review of what it was like working with us:

And their video testimonial!

Here’s a Q&A with Sharde + Rich:

1) Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
I loved getting ready with my family and wedding party!!! We ate and drank and laughed and cried!! It was a roller coaster of great moments.  I also loved sitting at the church next to my husband whispering to each other when we should have been listening to the mass. HAHA!! I was so excited and he looked so handsome!!! With the day filled with lots of socializing, it was nice to steal a few moments just for us.

2) What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
My favorite accessory was my hair-clip!!! I found it on a random trip to my tailors and knew right away I was going to buy all of my other accessories to match this rose gold crystal clip!!! I looked online forever for a silver Spanish comb I thought I wanted and stopped searching immediately when I saw this rose gold crystal clip that looked nothing like I imagined because it looked better!!!

3) What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
I actually did not have a theme for the wedding. I had a Pinterest board of centerpieces I wanted and a fiancé who wanted an icy winter wedding.  We ended up with a sort of Winter Wedding meets Great Gatsby meets Loyola library theme haha.  It was stunning and absolutely describes us both!!!

4) Mention a funny moment here:
We all arrived to the church early.  I had to walk into the church to get to the restroom, but the groom was already at the aisle. Once they were reassured that the groom was gone, they all stood next to each other so that I could walk behind them (semi concealed) to the restroom. To leave the restroom, they decided to do the same thing, that is until the groom came back and turned to my direction. They all of a sudden created a super mega human shield using themselves, their flowers, and anything else they had with them with to cover me!!  It was so funny!!!!

5) Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
You all know each other and know what it takes to make each other happy.  Every couple is different, so everyone’s wedding planning is different but I will say this: remember this day is happening because you want to marry the love of your life.  As long as that happens everything else will be perfect!!!

6) Tell us about the honeymoon plans!
We are going to Greece!!! We are island hopping and cannot wait for some fun rest and relaxation!!!

7) What was it like working with Sprung Photo?
I felt awkward having to tell someone I wanted high fashion pictures but have absolutely no experience posing.  I also felt like I was asking for too much when I wanted striking photos with no sun, limited daylight, 30 degree weather, no greenery, etc.  She immediately responded with “of course!!” There was so hesitation because she knew exactly what she was doing.  She is so cool and sweet and patient and thorough.  My photos looked glamorous and so creative!!
