Here are some favorite photos from Rachel & Zack’s insanely gorgeous Chicago wedding this past September. We got to work with one of our very favorite wedding planners, Anthony Navarro of Liven It Up Events, who helped make this one of the most beautifully decorated weddings I’ve ever seen. Add that to how much FUN everyone was having, and it was a photographer’s dream. 🙂
Q&A with Rachel + Zack:
Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Rachel’s favorite moments were the first look, and dancing the hora with family and friends. Zack loved walking down the aisle with his parents, and then seeing Rachel walk down the aisle.
What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Rachel loved wearing her Mira Zwillinger wedding gown, which she personalized by adding a blush lining instead of traditional white. Zack’s favorite fashion piece was his custom Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo, which he designed himself from liner to lapel.
What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
We drew inspiration from enchanted gardens in fairytales. We wanted the décor and flowers to be whimsical and ethereal with lots of natural elements as well. The end product was absolutely stunning, walking into the venue felt like walking into a Renaissance painting!
Mention a funny moment here:
During the breaking of the glass, a shard of glass went through Zack’s shoe and cut his foot! It was definitely scary at the time, but funny in retrospect because he ended up being fine – just a small cut on the bottom of his foot! One of our favorite pictures from the night was actually taken right after it happened. We were running down the stairs to check out Zack’s foot and to get him a bandaid, and Victoria took a beautiful bird’s-eye view shot of us. {see below!}
Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
Give yourself enough time to plan, and make sure to create a detailed schedule of what has to be done and when. This will help keep you on track and keep everything running smoothly!
Tell us about the honeymoon!
We are going on safari in South Africa next June, and visiting Seychelles and Europe afterwards. We can’t wait!
What was it like working with Sprung Photo?

I am often asked….do you also take traditional/classic photos on the wedding day? The answer is: YES! Our style is mostly documentary and cinematic while being highly creative, but we will of course take family photos, and classic/traditional photos for you on the wedding day:
