Kristen and Ben are ambitious, driven, and super smart. They both graduated as Doctors of Medicine from Northwestern University, and already moved to NYC to start their new lives! These two are the kindest, sweetest people, and their Wedding day certainly matched how perfect they are together. Here are some wonderful words from the Bride and Groom, and then on to some photos from the big day!
Favorite parts/moments: The first look was amazing. Every thought, detail, emotion in the months leading up to the wedding peaked at that moment as we turned to see each other. It seemed like we were the only two people in the room and we completely forgot about the twenty or so people looking down on us.
Our first dance was also perfect. We practiced and practiced leading up to that dance but ultimately it felt spontaneous and unique. The look on everyone’s faces at the end of the song was priceless.
Favorite Accessory: The best fashion piece was by far my dress–a form-fitting, light-weight, A-line lace dress made by Casablanca that I purchased at Reddington Bridal in Park Ridge, IL. This bridal boutique was the best one that I have ever been to, despite it being smaller in size than many of them. I also got my beautiful, cathedral lace veil and my mom’s mother-of-the-bride dress there as well. I’ve already recommended it to several friends of mine that are getting married, and they all found their dresses there too!
Decor: We wanted to play off the timeless elegance of the Armour House. We aimed for simplicity and sophistication, but also charm and comfort. At the end of the day the venue was so perfectly in tune with our tastes that we added very little. A beautiful, colorful spring day made it all the more perfect.
Funny Moment: The videographer was following us as we walked onto the dance floor from the Great Hall to get footage of us dancing. We grabbed hands, walked on and started to dance. Suddenly many of the bride’s aunts and uncles spontaneously engulfed us in an impromptu dance ring, wildly cheering us on as we danced in the middle. We couldn’t have asked for better timing, and this moment perfectly captured the mood of the evening.
Advice for other couples: Stay together as much as possible the night of the wedding so that you have the same memories looking back on your wedding day. Someone gave us this advice before our own wedding and we made it a point to do everything side-by-side the entire night. Now we have all the same memories, the same jokes, and the night was so much more special because the entirety of it was shared.

Honeymoon: For our honeymoon, we went to Chile and Argentina….We flew out the day after the wedding and spent a few nights in Santiago, Chile in the Castillo Rojo before heading to the coastal city of Valparaiso for a night. We then flew to Buenos Aires and spent 5 nights there in a wonderful, modern hotel. What a wonderful trip: walking the beautiful city streets, touring the rural vineyards and of course tasting many Argentinian steaks along with fine Chilean wines.
