Jeff & Cathy are full of joy and personality! The excitement in the air was apparent all day, as they were ready to get married and celebrate! So many smiles, so much laughter, and so much thought put into making their wedding a day for enjoying every moment. Take a look at a fabulous Q&A with the couple, and then some of my favorite photos!
Looking back, what were some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Walking on to the patio with Cathy for the first time as a married couple. At that moment everything was perfect.
What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
My (Cathy) favorite piece of fashion was my Alvina Valenta trumpet bridal gown. I was absolutely in love with it when I first saw it at Bella Bianca (Oak Brook). It was everything I was looking for in my wedding dress.
What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
Staying local. We met in Chicago and have lived together in Old Town. The venue, florist, activities, engagement and first look location are part of our daily lives. We wanted the wedding to reflect our home town and give our family and friends a glimpse of the city.
Mention a funny moment here:
I (Jeff) may have looked really good on the wedding day but forgot to pack an overnight bag. The next morning I walked back to the condo with the same suit, a slightly wilted boutonniere and a look that says we had a great time last night.
Also a bridesmaid getting bombarded by bird droppings was pretty funny.
Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
Enjoy the engagement period as much as possible. Celebrate with friends, celebrate with family.
Your bridal party will be your closest friends but invite anyone else that will bring energy and fun to your day while getting ready. Really glad I had a the full crew before the ceremony.
While planning the wedding be selective of who you work with and then on the wedding day trust them and enjoy your own party!
Tell us about the Honeymoon!
The honeymoon was an island hopping adventure through Hawaii. The first stop was Maui where we were able to enjoy the romantic side of Hawaii. We enjoyed sunset cruises, surfing and relaxing by the beach side pools.
The next stop was Kauai where our adventures really began. We toured by the island by plane, hiked the Napai coast and zip lined across the island’s lush canopy.
Finally we stopped in Honolulu and stayed at the Mona Surf Rider (Cathy’s new favorite hotel). We toured pearl harbor and spent the last of our time on the beach.
There was no better way to celebrate our wedding together and it was our perfect honeymoon.
