I finally used the 3-stop Neutral Density gel that comes with the MagMod Pro Correction Gels!
How it was done:
- 2 light set up: There is a flash resting on the booth behind the couple with a red Pro Creative Gel, pointed straight up. I wanted to put some light on the black curtains, but not kill the vibe.
- The main light is camera left, about 7 feet high and pointed slightly down. It has a MagGrid, and it also has the gray power diminishing “3-stop Neutral Density” Gel on it. Before adding this gel I had set the light perfectly, but it was still too bright at 1/128th power. So instead of moving the light or adding more grids and having to adjust further, I just slapped that gel on, and it worked perfectly!
- The bartender lit the table on fire.
- Settings: ISO 2500, f/2.8, shutter 1/80th, 24mm
