Looking back, what where some of your favorite parts or moments of the Wedding day?
Seeing each other for the first time, all dressed up, was an incredibly special moment. It was the culmination of so much planning and anticipation.

What was your favorite piece of fashion or accessory, and where did you get it?
Cary’s two engagement rings were her favorite accessory, of course! Matt had one of them handmade in Chicago. The other was from a favorite jewelry designer, Rebecca Overmann, who helped Cary pick them out at her studio in San Francisco. Matt’s favorite fashion was his custom-made suit from Formally Modern in Chicago.
What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
We wanted an intimate, personal, dinner-party feel. We wanted our guests to feel relaxed and comfortable. The antiques, mix-and-match style, candles, natural wood, and warm lighting at Salvage One made that really easy.
Mention a funny moment here:
When our good friend Luis picked up Matt, who is six foot five, and carried him around on the dance floor… when our friend Oliver pinned Cary’s dress with a binder clip (who brings a binder clip to a wedding??)… Cary’s grandmother’s surprising ability to dance to hip hop from the early 2000’s…
Any advice for future Brides and/or Grooms?
Don’t forget that this whole big event is about you and your partner committing to each other. Try not to get so wrapped up in wedding planning that you forget that the wedding is so small in comparison to your future together.
Did you go on honeymoon? Where?
We went to Mexico for a few days right after the wedding, and then to Paris and Copenhagen a few weeks later.
