Bert and Dave’s Wedding ceremony and celebration was both gorgeous and meaningful. While the decor and details were absolutely stunning, with everything planned to perfection by Anthony from Liven It Up Events, the wedding day was also relaxed, fun, and joyous. We were so lucky to have been able to capture the moments for Bert and Dave. Here is a fun q&a with the couple, and scroll on for photos!
What was the inspiration for your decor or styling?
Once we chose Firehouse Chicago as our venue, we took a lot of inspiration from there. It’s urban and modern, but also fun and a little rustic. We kept describing our style as urban rustic, which sounds like a contradiction but somehow it worked. We also looked at a lot of things on Pinterest.
Mention a funny moment here:
Right as we were about to say our vows the big wooden doors behind the altar started banging. Everybody stopped and stared for a second waiting for something to happen. Was it a sign? Was it a monster? We later found out it was just a guest who was running late and didn’t know which door to come in.
Any wedding advice for engaged couples?
Get a wedding planner. Working with our planner made everything so much easier and stress-free. This was the only wedding we ever planned, so we were clueless about a lot of details. He guided us through the process and helped us make great decisions and gently steered us away from bad decisions.
Tell us a little about the honeymoon…
We spent a week on the coast of Maine at the Hidden Pond resort. The leaves had just changed and the weather was perfect. We were near Portland, so we were able to explore the city, but we also just spent days relaxing and enjoying being together.
